Born and raised in Ul' dah, Lyra became an orphan after her parents died from a strange illness when she was only 12. She was taken by the monetarists to pay off her families debt, forced to do things she never thought she'd have to in all her life. She met a Midlander by the name of Meira June, a rogue (23 yrs old) that worked for the monetarists and was assigned to Lyra as her handler. The Midlander taught her everything she knew, even small little tricks when no one was around to watch them. Meira pitied the Miqo and did her best to find ways to cheer her up or help her get through the day to day. It's years before she meets someone that helps pay off her families debt, another Miqo by the name of I'lidya Dahl.She's drawn to fire like a moth, calmed by the sight of it and awed by how both powerfully destructive but also renewing the element can be. She has a strong wit about her but is very kind hearted, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone she meets. She's shy and reserved when first approached but over time can become rather bubbly and affectionate.
